Due Diligence and Acquisition Support for Northern Vancouver Island First Nation

SERVICES OFFERED

Financial, Operational Due DIligence, Deal negotiation, Acquisition Support, Deal team management

THE OBJECTIVE

Castlemain was retained to support the client through the due diligence process for over five acquistions in the tourism, lands and marine sectors.

CHALLENGES/ROADBLOCKS

In the process of navigating deal dynamics, we identified that Chief and Council had concerns with a specific deal which we successfully navigated. We also identified dissatisfaction with the offer our client tendered to the vendor, and are currently in negotiations with them.

THE RESULT

The engagement with Chief and Council was an opportunity for our client to refine the pitch for the deal, clarify the potential risks and identify mitigants. We supported our client in developing a thorough risk analysis, which we applied to the other acquisitions as well, and were successfully able to recieve Chief and Council buy-in.

We are also working with the vendor to identify creative acquisition structures that is mutually amenable, while also building a positive working relationship between the vendor and our client to ensure that negotiations are productive.

The cumulative total of the deals we have worked are approximately $4 million.
