We approach every project with integrity, cultural humility, and care. This means aligning with legal and ethical standards while also listening, adapting, and remaining accountable to the communities we serve.

Ethics

Our ethical commitments reflect both human rights principles and Indigenous-led values. We centre respect, honesty, safety, and responsible data use in every engagement.

  • All staff follow a formal Code of Conduct and Ethics Policy
  • Conflict of interest checks are routine, with clear disclosure procedures
  • Ethics reviews are conducted for project work that involves vulnerable communities
  • We ensure free, prior, and informed consent (FPIC) wherever applicable

Compliance

We maintain strict compliance with privacy, data protection, and communications regulations including PIPEDA, CASL, and SOC 2-aligned standards. We’re also a bilingual organization, providing services in English and French across the country.

  • Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) are completed before launching new initiatives
  • Sensitive data is protected by encryption, access controls, and secure storage
  • Team members complete annual compliance training and certification
  • An Official Languages strategy guides improvements to internal and external bilingual communications
  • Our documentation and workflows are audit-ready and consistently maintained

Accessibility

We embed accessibility at every level of service delivery. Our content, services, and spaces are designed to be inclusive and barrier-free, aligned with WCAG 2.1 AA and relevant provincial and federal legislation.

  • All public information is reviewed through accessibility audits for content, design, user experience and technical performance
  • People with lived experience inform our usability testing, remediation and optimization
  • In-person spaces are assessed for accessibility and accommodations are provided as needed

Transparency & measurement

We provide open, timely updates on performance, challenges, and learnings. Our reporting reflects both metrics and lived experience, helping partners and communities see the full picture.

  • Regular impact reports include key indicators and community insights
  • Dashboards show engagement rates and metrics
  • Real-time feedback tools support improvements
  • Briefings and wrap-up summaries are shared after major phases
  • For Indigenous-led or community-based work, we follow OCAP® (ownership, control, access, and possession ) principles and co-develop reporting to support data sovereignty
